Research Interests
I have been working in several areas of research over the last 20 years. Functional neuroimaging is my main line of research where I use functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) system to monitor brain activation during cognitive engagement. I am puzzled and intrigued by how the brain performs complex decision making tasks and why some people fail to do so. I have been looking for biomarkers of cognitive deficits in an effort to provide physicians with a metric that they can use for screening for a drug responder, optimising the dose of medication and evaluating prognosis.
